Shock as Armour departs

Ards will have to re-assess their attacking options for the coming season following the news that Darren Armour is heading for a new life in Tenerife.

The experienced striker had been expected to lead the Ards attack when the new season begins in a few week's time after making a strong impression during his four months with the club last term.

But now boss Tommy Kincaid will start to re-assess his options with the news that the recently-married Armour will depart for Tenerife in mid-August.

Armour had made an instant impression when he signed from Distillery in January this year. A hat-trick on his debut was followed by five more strikes before the season was out and he was a regular starter in the side. But now after just fourteen games for the club, the ex-Glentoran striker heads off and the best wishes of all at Ards go with him.
