Armour adds strength to panel

Veteran Irish League striker Darren Armour signed a contract on Saturday that will see him turn out for Ards until the end of this season.

The prolific scorer agreed to join from Lisburn Distillery, having trained with Ards for the past number of weeks. 34 year-old Armour is best know for his days with Distillery in the early 2000s, when he helped the club to a series of top half finishes in the Premier League.

The player then moved to Glentoran, where he continued his scoring form, before returning to Distillery. He played a small number of games under new White boss Jimmy Brown at the start of this season, including both legs of their ill-fated Europa League qualifying tie against Zestafoni.

It is hoped that Darren can be registered in time to face Coagh United in Tuesday's Championship game.
