First
Team Manager
Niall Currie
appointed
October 2011
Former
Ards player Niall arrived at Ards three months into
the new season, replacing Justin McBride who had
survived just 14 months in the job. The journeyman
goalkeeper can boast of a long list of employers
during his very successful Irish League career that
included spells with Bangor and Glenavon.
His first
move into management was with Second Division Annagh
United in 2006, before moving on to Loughgall and
winning five trophies in his first season, including
the league title. A further championship followed
before he left Lakeview Park after three and a half
years. He was briefly involved in a coaching capacity
with Comber Rec before agreeing to become the new Ards
manager in October.
