Ards councillor Jim Shannon will be in attendance at the next meeting of the Bring Ards FC Home campaign on Wednesday night.

Mr Shannon, a DUP member of the Assembly, has kindly agreed to an invitation from the campaign to address a meeting of Ards supporters and show his backing for the community stadium proposals.

The meeting will be held in the Ards Sports Club at 8pm and is open to all Ards supporters.

Over recent weeks the Bring Ards FC Home campaign has been canvassing support throughout the borough. A large number of businesses have displayed the campaign poster in their shop-fronts, and several hundred followers of Ards FC have sent letters to a range of local councillors.

Coverage in the local press also remains strong, with other local representatives adding their public support to the stadium idea this week.
