A history of brothers at Ards

Earlier this season in a Steel & Sons Cup match against Bangor Swifts Ards fielded two sets of brothers in Adam and Ross Arthurs and David and James Cully.

There have been numerous occasions through the years when a pair of brothers have taken the field together in Ards colours. Recent examples include the Kincaids and Campbells during the early nineties and later John and Daniel Bailie.

Now club factsman Billy Graham has unearthed a list of other possible candidates and would like the help of the wider Ards support to establish if these players who shared the same name are in fact related.

The following pairings played together during the same period:

Before and after the war - Andy McKeown and Joe McKeown
During the war - WJ Beattie and Rainey Beattie
During the war - JA Graham and J (Jack?) Graham
Before the war - T Wilson and JA Wilson

These pairings played for Ards at different times:

Tony Tumelty and Ryan Tumelty
Tommy Elliot and Gareth Elliot
Lee Rutheford, Kirk Rutherford and Craig Rutherford
