Youth League Cup R2: Ards Colts 3-0 Cookstown Youth

Ards put themselves into the quarter-finals of the Youth League Cup on Saturday with a win over Cookstown at Londonderry Park.

Ards took the lead in the first half through Craig McConkey who volleyed in superbly from 25 yards. The lead was then doubled before the break when Tony Tumelty scored with a free header from a Gary Sharratt corner.

The Colts thoroughly dominated the second half but struggled for a time to turn their advantage into goals. Finally a Matt McFall corner found the head of Ryan Newberry for him score number three and see the side safely into the next round.
