Carnegie Youth League: Crusaders Colts 1-2 Ards Colts
24th November 2007

Ards Colts came from a goal behind to defeat a very motivated Crusaders team at Grove playing fields on Saturday.

The home side were a goal up after just five minutes of the first half and Ards struggled to make inroads on the Crues' goal for the remainder of the half.

A couple of minutes into the new half and Ards did get back on level footing when a Matt McFall corner wasn't cleared and Nathan McVeigh was there to smash the ball into the net.

The second half was played out very evenly and both sides had chances. Crusaders were delivered a chance to steal the game in the 89th minute when a soft penalty was awarded, but keeper Jason Mooney saved a spot kick for the third time this season.

Three minutes into injury time and a loose ball from Mooney's goal kick found it's way to Thomas Gorman and he slotted in a late, dramatic winner.

Ards take their good form into next week's 3rd round Harry Cavan Cup tie at home to Linfield Rangers (1.30pm)
