A second spell at Ards begins this year for local man Darren, who was one of the first summer captures for Tommy Kincaid. He began three and a half years at the club back in 2000 and grew immensely as a player in that time, converting from right-back to centre-half. He was moved on to Carrick by then manager Shane Reddish and later landed at Dundela. Two young player of the year awards were won last time around by the nephew of Ards legend Billy Nixon.
