Deegan re-signs in time for game

Former midfielder Chris Deegan has re-signed for Ards today, having impressed manager Tommy Kincaid during this week's training.

The 29 year-old former Distillery player featured in seven games for Ards last season, having come in as a late season signing. He won the Player of the Month award in February 2007, but was not retained at the end of the season.

Since then Chris has turned out for Killyleagh and latterly Ardglass in the Amateur League as he attempted to work on some needed fitness.

Deegan's registration papers were lodged with the IFA in time for Friday's signing deadline and he will join the Ards squad for Saturday's league game with Dundela.  He wont however be eligible to play in the Intermediate Cup semi-final.
