The Ards FC Fun Day and Club Awards will take place this year on Saturday 10th May, beginning with the popular Supporters v Players match.

Four events are planned for the day, with the friendly match taking place at Londonderry Park, before attention switches to the Ards Sports Club for a Day at the Races and the Player of the Year award presentations.

Naturally, supporters are being encouraged to get involved with all of it with the first event being a Penalty Kick competition against Ards goalkeeper and captain Andy McDonald. This will take place in Londonderry Park at 12 noon with entry to this being by way of sponsorship. Each participant willl be allowed three kicks and the best takers put through into the next stage. Sponsorship forms are available from the Sports Club, from Andrew McCullough at any game or can be downloaded here (Word file).

Following that the Ards supporters will line up against the first XI in the day's Challenge Match. The supporters team is now being assembled and anyone interested in playing should talk to either Andrew McCullough or Keith Bailie. The cost to play is £5 per player. There may even be a run-out from one or two of the backroom staff.

Then, from 3pm the Sports Club hosts a Day at the Races, which is guaranteed to be another enjoyable event. Anne McAdam is currently organising this and she is on the look out for Race Sponsors and Horse Sponsors. There will of course be prizes available for each of the winning horse owners.

The final event will be the Awards Presentation, when the supporters' clubs and board of directors will give out their trophies for the best players and club supporters through-out the season. The presentations are set to being around 5.45pm.
