Pair make steady recoveries

Ards captain Darren Nixon continues to recover from his bout of recent illness, which has now be diagnosed as a viral infection.

Darren Nixon

The stalwart defender has been absent from Ards' last two fixtures, first missing the defeat away to Institute when he was struck down by what was thought was vertigo.

Darren was well enough to make the trip to Drumahoe and support his team-mates but a full recovery for him may take up to another week ruling him out of action this weekend.

James Wright

Also missing from the Ards squad at the moment is midfielder James Wright. He too has sat out the action recently having been struck by a liver infection. The popular Belfast lad spent a night in hospital last weekend under observation and is now on the mend, with hopes of resuming light training this week.

James was a spectator at Tuesday night's game against Carrick Rangers.
