Dee Irvine

Dee Irvine's contribution to Ards' passage over Coagh United in the Co-Operative Insurance Cup has earned him the Player of the Round award.

This season's new signing was instrumental in Ards' first round win over Coagh, bagging two goals in the first leg and hitting what appeared to be a third in the home tie.

Dressing room chat later confirmed that it had in fact been striker Darren Fitzgerald with the last touch as Ards won 3-2 at home on 7th September.

Nevertheless Dee's brace at Hagan Park earned him his award, sponsored by tournament backers Co-Operative Insurance.

Ards meet Ballinamallard United in round two of the competition this Saturday at Dixon Park.
