Irvine is given release

Midfielder Dee Irvine has departed Ards, having requested his release from manager Tommy Kincaid this week.

The 29 year-old midfielder was a summer signing from Bangor before the start of this season and was a near ever-present in the side. Over recent weeks however the player has failed to be selected and manager Kincaid has agreed to allow Irvine to move on.

The player scored 6 goals from his 25 games for Ards this season and in September had been named player of the round in the Co-Operative Insurance Cup.

It is believed East Belfast and Sirocco Works are among the clubs interested in signing him.
