Johnny had a low key start to his Ards career after signing for Tommy Kincaid in January of this year. A couple of sporadic substitute appearances followed his arrival from amateurs Rosario and it was a couple of months before an injury to Kris Pike opened up the left-back spot for him. He performed ably until the end of the season and really grasped his opportunity during this pre-season to stake a claim for a starting spot. Alas a mid-term injury ended his season prematurely in January. Spent a year and a half with North Down neighbours Bangor.
