Nixon will wear the armband for the coming season and
he is sure to prove a popular choice with his
team-mates and supporters alike.
Nixon
enters the fourth year of his second spell with the
club this season and having played over 200 games for
Ards, he is the longest-server in the side.
In
2007/08 he was voted as the club's Player of the
Season, while during his first stay he picked up a
Young Player of the Year award.
During
his time away from Ards he had spells with Carrick
Rangers and Dundela, and the Newtownards resident can
point to Ards legend and uncle Billy Nixon among many
in a well-known sporting family.
