Youths
come in to bolster squad
25th April 2008
Ards travel into
Tyrone on Saturday to face Coagh United for the second time this month.
The two sides have shared
the same region of the league table for most of the season, although
Ards' recent run of good results has seen the Hagan Park side left
behind slightly. At the start of April goals from Johnny Roy, James
Wilson and Darren Stirling gave Ards a 3-1 victory over Coagh at
Clandeboye Park.
Both sides were in action
on Tuesday past. While Ards were defeating Banbridge Town in the dark,
Coagh United were involved a one-all draw with Ballyclare, a result that
handed the league title to Loughgall.
Ards defender Gary Spence
is not expected to be risked for this game, although his injury has
significantly improved. Tommy Kincaid perhaps will have one eye on next
Thursday's Intermediate Cup final and may indeed choose to rotate some
of his squad.
He has called on six of
Lee Forsythe's Ards Colts side, who have a cup final of their own coming
up, next Wednesday against the Cliftonville youth team. While not all of
the six will make the squad, there's must be a strong chance of Gary
Sharratt, Tony Tumelty or Ryan Newberry taking part. There might also be
a game for Kerri Grant, as Kris Pike struggles to overcome a knock taken
in Tuesday night's game at Banbridge.
Striker Ricky Billing
returns following his automatic ban, although he'll soon be off for
another four matches - the standard punishment where a headbutt is
concerned.
The Ards supporters bus
will leave the social club at 1pm, with the club open before-hand to
allow fans to gather. The game has a 2.30pm kick-off.
Saturday's
fixtures
Coagh
United v. Ards
Tobermore United v. Ballyclare Comrades
