Ricky was a capture by former boss Gary Hillis just prior to the start of the last league campaign after being recommended to the club. A stocky and powerful kind of forward in the target man mould, he took some time to adapt to the standard of the First Division but finished last season in great form, scoring some vital goals, and picking up back-to-back player of the month awards. A lengthy injury spell saw his 2007/08 season disrupted until March.
