Two In As Kincaid Starts Signings
28th May 2007

Tommy Kincaid has moved to sign up former Glenavon goalkeeper Andy McDonald for next season.

Andy McDonald

The journey-man stopper was under Tommy's command at Mourneview Park and also at Larne and the boss has shown faith in him once again by bringing him to Ards.

30 year-old Andy has a wealth of experience in the Irish League and has at one time or another been on the books of Linfield, Ballyclare and Distillery. He spent two years with Glenavon and last season played for East Belfast.

Darren Nixon

Tommy has also reached an agreement for Darren Nixon to re-join Ards. The popular defender was released during Shane Reddish's spell as manager after establishing himself as a very capable centre-half. After leaving Ards he moved on to Carrick Rangers and has spent the last two seasons with Dundela.

The 24 year-old Newtownards resident spent three seasons with Ards between 1999 and 2003, making over 100 appearances. He won a First Division championship medal in 2001 and is the nephew of Ards seventies legend Billy Nixon. Darren will join Ards once his Dundela contract expires in August.
