Two
signed on deadline day
It
was a busy deadline day for Niall Currie as he
finalised the arrivals of midfielders Jonathan Bowers
and Andy Smith.
Bowers
joins the club from fellow Championship team Bangor,
fresh from helping them win the Steel & Sons Cup
in December. Johnny signed for the Seasiders in the
summer of 2010 but suffered a broken leg in his first
game, that would keep him out for the rest of the
season. He returned to action this season and played
16 times for the first team.
As
a youth, he played for Glentoran, making a number of
first team appearances, before going on loan to
Crusaders. The 22 year-old is best suited in midfield.
Andy
Smith arrives from Carrick Rangers, for whom he signed
in the summer, following their promotion to the
Premiership. The midfielder was formerly with
Loughgall, where he played under Niall Currie and
featured against Ards last season. Andy is 28 and
until the turn of the year was a regular in the
Carrick side.
