Fans
hear stadium progress
Supporters
representing the Bring Ards FC Home campaign have held
a short meeting with Council officials to hear the
latest progress on the Londonderry Park upgrade.
Local
councillors agreed recently that a planning
application should be submitted for the development,
that will see the present playing fields at Portaferry
Road upgraded to include, among other elements, an
arena suitable for Intermediate football.
A
small delegation of Ards supporters subsequently met
with Council Director of Leisure Services Archie
Walls, who outlined that the planning application was
due to be submitted and that a schedule for works was
being formulated.
Councillors
have also agreed again, in principle, to support the
entire development and have asked that a report be
brought back detailing where funding might be sourced.
