The boss has indicated his willingness to join in the event and will have the backing of his players too, through sponsorship. However, those hoping to grab a chat with George along the way will have their work cut out as he's planning to run the whole way!
The walk takes place on Saturday 29th October, ahead of the home match against Armagh City and will see a collection of supporters and club officials set off from the sports club along the five mile route to Clandeboye Park. But manager George expects to be in Bangor in record time.
The former Irish League stalwart has kept himself very fit since he hung up the boots and bearing in mind that he has a squad to prepare for the crucial league game, he feels the needs to hit the ground running. He is of course open to receiving running mates if anyone feels up to a Saturday lunchtime workk-out.
For those less enthusiastic, you are encouraged to join in with the walk, which is in aid of bolstering funds, both for the supporters' club and the football club. Sponsorship forms are available from behind the bar in the sports club or by getting in touch with Andrew McCullough.
Walkers are asked to meet at the Sports Club at 12.15 for a 12.30 start and there will be refreshments available at our destination at specially arranged rates.
