Match Preview: Ballymena United (a)

Ballymena United vs Ards

Ballymena Showgrounds.

Saturday 26th January at 3.00 p.m.

Ards fans will travel to Ballymena hoping to see the kind of display on show last Friday in the home game against Coleraine. Many Coleraine fans admitted that their team had stolen the points and while the Ards players must have been disappointed that their efforts were unrewarded, hopefully they will feel that more of the same might just bring rewards in future games.

No suspensions this week but a couple of injury doubts in Craig McClean, who missed out last week and Jonathan Smith who caught the curse of the Ards striker and went off injured against Coleraine. Hopefully he will be back playing a lot quicker than Cameron Stewart or Sean Noble!

Ballymena are pushing Linfield hard at the top of the table and will want to maintain the pressure on the Blues and will be boosted by three wins over the Red and Blues already this season. All three have been close enough affairs, two at Bangor with a single goal margin in the League [1-2] and League Cup [0-1], while the last trip to Warden Street just before Christmas saw the home side win 2-0.

As always Ards fans intending to travel are urged to use the PASC bus which leaves the Social Club/Gibson's Lane area at 1.30 p.m.
