Big Opportunities At Ards FC Academy

As the Ards FC Academy start another season with teams from 2013 right up to the 2003 and over 35 managers, coaches and committee, all volunteers too. We still have the following opportunities.

Players are welcome at all the age groups as they continue to build for the season ahead, training is at the fantastic facility at Londonderry Park, there is no better in the area, on Mondays from 8 until 9 and on Wednesdays from 6.30 until 9pm.

Take the first step on a proven player pathway that reaches right up to the first team as Callum Byers and Josh Kelly proved last season, forcing their way into becoming first team regulars, Colin Nixon’s belief, proving if your good enough, age will not be a barrier.

The under 20s won the Borough Cup last month with a squad that included Adam Munn, Jake Sloan, Jourdan Shearer, Blake Bickerstaff and Karl Hollywood, all from last years U16s. From the same U16 squad, Jonah Heron and U20s player Sam Dinu both performed well for Co. Down at the prestigious Supercup NI tournament in Coleraine last month.

So come and join us and enjoy the facilities and the latest training gear too as Matthew Hale from the 2010 group is demonstrating.

Coaches and managers are always sought after as the number of players at the Academy increases as we strive to maintain a good coach player ratio at all times.

We have the best coach package out there, commit to 3 years coaching with us and get your coaching badges paid for by the Academy, a substantial investment, but one that we believe is very worthwhile . You will wear the latest club gear subsidised substantially along with reduced costs for your own childrens training and get into all Ards FC home games free. We run regular in house training sessions to further develop the coaching staffs knowledge and ability throughout the season with the best coach educators.

Get in touch with Academy staff for any further information and put something back into the game.

Parents Don’t just stand on the sidelines get involved to improve the club and make it a better place for your child. Currently we are specifically interested in hearing from anyone with IT experience, marketing experience and grant application experience who feel they could contribute to the club.

Sponsors We are indebted to our long term sponsor Warren Patton of Pattons Bakery for his continued support of our Development squads from 2013 up, and to Gary Withers of Peninsula Print for his help with our printing and promotion needs.

There is an opportunity at the moment for further sponsorship with a couple of the teams including the National League 2007 squad which will be playing against the top 20 teams in NI next season, a very high profile, as their games are covered by NIBFA TV.

We would be delighted to hear from anyone who can help on any level from Ball sponsors, Match sponsors, Equipment sponsors up to Kit sponsors. It is a great feeling to see the effect your contribution can have, when you watch them all enjoying their football, its why we all do it!
