Cliftonville Preview.

Ards vs Cliftonville.

D.B.P.

Bangor Fuels Arena.

Saturday December 15th at 3.00p.m.

Another difficult task looming this weekend as the high scoring Reds come to town. After an inconsistent start to their season Cliftonville have picked up and although they lost their last two away games, they did face the top two in Ballymena and Linfield in those fixtures. Since then they have won two home games against Dungannon and Glenavon, scoring nine goals in 5-1 and 4-2 victories. Indeed, the Reds have only failed to score once in the league this season.

Ards lack of goals is no secret and injuries now threaten the defence which has generally performed well this season. Johnny Taylor looks to be out for a lengthy period and although the partnership of Byers and McAleenan didn't let the team down against Coleraine, the hoped for return of Elebert would provide some experience to help cope with the potent Reds strikers.

Ards fans will remember the great goal scored by McLellan from distance at Solitude earlier in the season that gave his team a half time lead, unfortunately for the Red and Blues the home side came back and won the game with three goals in the last twelve minutes. This time I'd settle for a scrappy last minute tap-in if it brings a point or three!
