IT IS WITH DEEP REGRET THAT WE CAN ANNOUNCE THAT FORMER MATCH REPORTER JIM PALMER HAS PASSED AWAY , JIM REPORTED ON EVERY ARDS MATCH FOR AROUND 30 YEARS INCLUDING PROMOTION AND RELEGATION BATTLES AS WELL AS EUROPEAN MATCHES , HE WORKED AS A TEACHER AT COMBER PRIMARY AND WAS ALSO KNOWN FOR HIS LOVE OF MUSIC WORKING AS A CORRESPONDENT AND DJ IN THE 1970s,

COUNTLESS TRIBUTES HAVE POURED IN FOR A MAN THAT WAS REGARDED AS A TRUE GENTLEMAN .

EVERYONE ASSOCIATED WITH ARDS FOOTBALL CLUB FROM THE BOARD MEMBERS THROUGH TO ALL THE SUPPORTERS SEND THEIR DEEPEST CONDOLENCES TO JIMS FAMILY

JIM IS SURVIVED BY HIS WIFE ELIZABETH AND DAUGHTERS GILLIAN AND RUTH , A THANKSGIVING SERVICE WILL BE HELD AT 10-30 ON SATURDAY AT BALLYBLACK PRESBYTERIAN IN NEWTOWNARDS ,
