LUCKY THIRTEENTH?

ARDS vs BALLYMENA UNITED.

BETMcCLEAN LEAGUE CUP.

BANGOR FUELS ARENA.

TUESDAY 13th NOVEMBER @ 7.45 p.m.

Ards take on an in-form Ballymena side hoping to progress to the semi finals of the League Cup. To do that they might need a bit of the luck not usually associated with the number thirteen, but that is the date set aside for this encounter.

Ballymena will be hot favourites for this tie, currently on an unbeaten run of nine games in all competitions, with eight wins and a draw in that time and a goal tally of 21 with only three conceded, including six clean sheets. Among the goalscorers in that run are James Knowles, Reece Glendinning and Willie Faulkner, all familiar names to Ards fans.

Ards have struggled to score this season and against such a mean defence this game will be a real challenge, however it is a break from the relegation battle they are currently involved in and manager Colin Nixon will have a virtually full panel at his disposal, with the obvious absence of the unfortunate Sean Noble, so perhaps the team spirit and hard work that has been evident in most games this season will bring some reward. The only previous meeting this season was a narrow affair, with Ards losing at home in a game where they took the lead and possibly didn't deserve to be on the wrong end of a 2-1 scoreline.

Season tickets are not valid for this game and admission will be the standard £11 with concessions priced at £7.
