Match Day 19. Ards vs Knockbreda.

Updated: Nov 30, 2019

Ards vs Knockbreda.

Bluefin Sport Championship.

Bangor Fuels Arena.

Saturday November 30th at 3.00 p.m.

Officially match day 19 but thanks to consecutive postponements this is our 17th game in the league this season. Of more interest to Ards fans, it is the managerial debut of Craig McClean following the departure of Warren Feeney to sunnier shores in Bulgaria.

Craig has taken the role of manager on an interim basis and while he is as frustrated as the rest of us about the enforced absence of competitive action since his appointment, he will at least have had time to think over options for his first team selection.

One definite absentee is Craig McMillen who completes his suspension in this game and will be available for the big game against Portadown next weekend. One bright spot on the injury front is that young Jonah Heron has had his operation and starts the road to recovery.

Ards fans with an optimistic nature will be hoping that the side can put together a run of good results and while the automatic promotion spot might be a hard ask, the play-off position is still attainable.

Knockbreda also had their game postponed last weekend but the previous week went to Loughgall and won 3-0, their first game since parting with manager Lee Forsythe. They currently sit rock bottom in the league table with their only other win being at Ballinamallard on the opening day of the season. Clearly they can produce unexpected results and it won't be lost on Ards fans that those games away to Loughgall and Ballinamallard resulted in draws for the Red and Blues.

It is hoped that Ards fans will turn out in numbers to see Craig's first game in charge and will help cheer the team on a good result.
