Match Day 21. Dundela vs Ards.

Dundela vs Ards.

Bluefin Sport Championship.

Wilgar Park.

Saturday 14th December at 3.00 p.m.

New manager John Bailie takes his team the short journey to Wilgar Park to take on a Dundela team that has been playing well under the leadership of Bryan McCarroll, having only lost once in their last six league outings. The Duns currently occupy fourth place in the table, seven points ahead of Ards who do have a game in hand. The previous encounter between the two teams in Bangor at the end of September was a 1-1 draw, the Ards goal coming from Michael McLellan.

The current Dundela squad features a number of players who have played in the Red and Blue, Gareth Tommons, Eoghan McCawl and Michael Kerr all featured for Ards last season, while those with a longer memory will recall Jay Magee, Owain Beggs and Carl McComb. Even Duns manager McCarroll has links with Ards, I have memories of him scoring a hat-trick for Ards while playing at Castlereagh Park!

Ards fans will be keen to see John Bailie's first team selection. John's appointment was only confirmed last Saturday after the game at Portadown and while he had watched the team several times recently, he will only have had two training sessions before choosing his starting eleven. His options will be limited slightly in that both Kym Nelson and T.J. Murray have accumulated five yellow cards and will miss this game through suspension. John will probably introduce some of the Under 20 side that have been doing so well recently to the squad, but will they start or be on the bench?

Hopefully a good crowd of Ards fans will turn out to support the team now being led by one of the most popular Ards players of recent times.

The PASC bus will leave Gibson's Lane at 2.00 p.m. All fans are welcome.
