Match Preview: Ballinamallard (h)

SATURDAY 21st APRIL at 3pm

Ards face Ballinamallard in their penultimate game of the season knowing that two more wins would earn them a final position of eighth.  Ballinamallard come into the game on the back of a home win against Carrick on Tuesday that has given them real hope of avoiding automatic relegation and securing a play-off place against a Championship side for the right to stay in the Premiership.

For much of the season the Ducks were anchored at the foot of the division but since our 4-0 victory at Ferney Park on March 10th, which saw the end of Gavin Dyke's reign as manager, the arrival of Harry McConkey has seen a run of six games with only one defeat that has allowed them to overtake Carrick in the table.

Recent matches between the sides have gone the way of Ards, who have earned five consecutive victories over their opponents, but with Ballinamallard fighting for their lives past results will count for nothing.

Hopefully some of the injured players will be available for selection, but manager Colin Nixon has already said that he will continue to give young players a chance and indeed involved five teenagers in last weekend's win over Carrick with goalscorer Michael McLellan  the senior Ards player at the ripe old age of 25!
