Match Preview: Cliftonville (a)

CLIFTONVILLE vs ARDS

SOLITUDE, BELFAST.

FRIDAY MARCH 23rd - KO 7.45PM

Supporters Bus: Gibson's Lane 6.45pm

Ards play their final pre-split game against Cliftonville looking for a result that will keep them in eighth place in the League and mathematically remove any chance of being involved in a relegation play-off situation, regardless of how Carrick Rangers perform over their last six games.

If fans are looking for good omens, Ards have won their last two Friday nighters, at home to Warrenpoint and away to Glentoran and following their home defeat at the hands of Ballymena last Tuesday, Cliftonville are comfortably situated in fifth place, six points behind Linfield and eight points ahead of sixth placed Glentoran, so may not have a lot to play for. Those who think recent form could be a guide will no doubt remind us that Ards beat Ballymena 1-0 at the end of February.

David McAllister will still be absent through injury and David Elebert remains a doubt, so the team may be similar to last week's, although with relegation fears all but banished, fans will perhaps expect to see more of the talented Under 20 squad being given some game time.

Fans intending to travel are encouraged to use the PASC bus, which will be leaving the Social Club/Gibson's Lane at 6.45 p.m.
