Match Preview: Crusaders (a)

Crusaders vs Ards

13/01/18 - 3pm

PASC Supporters Bus: Departs Gibson's Lane 2pm

Crusaders are without doubt the form team in the Danske Bank Premiership.

Since losing at home to Glenavon in mid October they have put together an unbeaten run that has brought them thirteen league wins and one draw, enabling them to overtake early season pacesetters Coleraine at the top of the table.

To top this, Gavin Whyte and Steven Baxter can boast December's NIFWA Player and Manager of the Month respectively. However, we have all heard about the curse of Manager of the Month. Ards fans will be hoping it hits Seaview on Saturday.

Although a flurry of late goals meant that our home match in November finished 4-2 in favour of the men from the Shore Road, Ards fans will travel with memories of an early season game where a committed display from the Red and Blues earned a 0-0 draw and a well deserved point at Seaview. A repeat performance and an extension to the current five game unbeaten run will be welcomed.

Team selection may provide manager Colin Nixon with a headache, Jonny Frazer remains injured and Joshua Kelly is likely to be unavailable, while a number of players are carrying injuries after last weekend's Irish Cup win.

On a more positive note it is hoped that clearance will have come through for Luke Kelly, a 22 year old midfielder from Leinster Senior League champions St Mochta's.

Ards fans intending to travel are encouraged to use the PASC bus which will be leaving the The Ards Social Club at Gibson's Lane at 2pm.
