Match Preview: Dungannon Swifts (h)

SATURDAY 28th APRIL at 3pm

Match Sponsors:

Streetwise Newtownards & George Young.

Ards play their final match of the 2017/18 season, looking for the first win over opponents Dungannon this season, indeed after two 1-0 defeats and a scoreless draw in the previous three games Ards will be looking to score their first goal against the Swifts.

The title and relegation issues will be settled elsewhere but eighth place is up for grabs in this game, a win for Ards will secure it for them, any other result means Dungannon finish eighth and Ards are ninth.

Colin Nixon would love to get the win that will mean he can emulate last season's finishing position but is equally determined to give some of his promising youngsters more game time, a policy that is paying dividends in terms of their development as Josh Kelly and Jonah Mitchell have been invited to be part of the Northern Ireland Under 21 squad for a three day training camp to be based at Seaview next month.

One player definitely out of contention for this game is Reece Glendinning who misses out after accumulating five yellow cards. The match day squad is likely to continue along last week's youthful lines although some fans will no doubt be wondering if Timmy Browne, who has scored consecutive hat-tricks as Regent House clinched a league and cup double in the last ten days, will be included to lower the average age even further!

Once again fans under 16 will be admitted free if accompanied by a paying adult.
