Match Preview: Glenavon (h)

ARDS vs GLENAVON.

DANSKE BANK PREMIERSHIP.

CLANDEBOYE PARK.

TUESDAY SEPTEMBER 25th at 7.45 p.m.

Ards take on Glenavon in the game that was postponed from September 7th as a result of two of Glenavon's players call-up to the Under 21 International squad.

The teams will come into this game with very different hopes. A win for Glenavon would take them to the top of the table, as they currently sit just two points behind Linfield with a game in hand, while Ards will be hoping to get enough of the walking wounded together to give a good account of themselves!

Eamon McAllister is the latest doubt and may well find that this game comes to soon to recover from the knock he sustained in the 0-0 draw at Dungannon. The positive thing for Ards fans at the minute is how the defence have been performing, five clean sheets in the last six games is excellent form, indeed keeper Sam Johnston has not conceded a goal in the last 466 minutes of play! Ards are unbeaten in that period, although three draws and two cup wins in those six games mean that the team are still sitting in 10th place in the table.

Glenavon held the upper hand on Ards last season with three league victories and an aggregate score of 11-1, although Ards did win 4-0 in the League Cup.
