Match Preview : Glentoran [a].

Glentoran vs Ards.

The Oval.

Saturday 9th March at 3.00 p.m.

Ards fans will travel to the Oval with renewed hope that the fight for Premiership survival is not a lost cause. While players and fans may feel frustrated that the Irish Cup games last weekend meant there was no game for Ards and no chance to build on that morale boosting win against Newry in Warren Feeney's managerial debut for the Red and Blues, he will have had more time to get his message and methods across to the squad. The lack of match action will also have given time for a couple of niggling injuries to clear up.

Having said that Darren Henderson is still sidelined and Mark Kelly is doubtful. The good news is that Callum Byers has completed his suspension and returns to the squad.

The last trip to the Oval was probably one of the worst displays of the season by Ards and resulted in a 4-0 defeat and while the Glens have a potent attack in Murray, McDaid and Allen they can be inconsistent and this may be a chance for Ards to repeat recent successes at the Oval. However the Glens fans will be looking for their team to clinch that seventh place in the league and ensure they are involved in the European qualification play-off system.

Ards fans travelling to the game are encouraged to use the PASC bus leaving the Social Club/Gibson's Lane area at 2.00 p.m.
