Match Preview: Glentoran (h)

Ards vs Glentoran

DANSKE BANK PREMIERSHIP BANGOR FUELS ARENA SATURDAY 7th APRIL - KO 3pm

Ards will be buoyed by their impressive performance and 4-2 win on Tuesday night against Warrenpoint, while the Glens last outing was over two weeks ago, when a 2-1 home defeat against Ballymena all but confirmed they would be in the bottom six for the final five post-split games. So far this season home advantage hasn't been much of a help in this fixture as Ards have won twice at the Oval, while the Glens had a narrow 1-0 win the last time they came to Bangor.

Glentoran would have been without Willie Garrett, Steven Gordon and John McGuigan had their scheduled match on Easter Tuesday not been postponed so presumably those suspensions will carry forward and the trio will be unavailable on Saturday.

Ards for their part have no suspensions for this one but a number of injury concerns. McAllister and Tommons remain on the injury list while Ross Clarke, the PASC player of the month for March may not be ready to return after his injury in the game at Solitude. Keke is also a doubt after going off injured in the first half on Tuesday. Taylor and Elebert may return while Michael Ruddy has served his suspension and should be available.

Whatever starting eleven manager Colin Nixon puts out, the same effort, enthusiasm and enterprise that earned the win against Warrenpoint will ensure a good competitive game against a Glentoran side that want to preserve their current seventh place and a tilt at the European play-off games that go with it.
