Ards take on Glentoran in their first home game in this season's Premiership campaign. No doubt Ards fans will be hoping for the type of committed team performance they witnessed on Monday night at Seaview but hopefully this time seeing it rewarded with a point or three at the end of the game. Like Ards Glentoran lost their first competitive outing of the season, going down 2-1 at home to a very late goal from Joe Gormley. Indeed the Glens had a half time lead in this game and were leading until the 81st minute.

Very recent history shows that home wins are rare in this fixture, last season Ards won both games at the Oval while the Glens returned the compliment by winning both games in Bangor. Home fans will be hoping that sequence can be reversed, until we go to the Oval of course!

Josh Kelly will be unavailable for this game after his sending off at Seaview following his two yellow cards but Michael Kerr will come back into contention after being ineligible for selection against Crusaders from whom Ards signed him on loan, while Kym Nelson will no doubt be looking forward to facing last year's team-mates. Glentoran are along the usual lines with the goal threat coming from the evergreen Curtis Allen as Robbie McDaid is doubtful with a hamstring injury. New signing Nigel Prentice scored twice for the reserve team in a 5-3 win against their Cliftonville counterparts on August 8th so will be pushing for a place, as will ex Carrick player Lee Chapman. The third new signing, who made his debut last week for the Glens is Conor Pepper, previously with Greenock Morton.

Get down and cheer the Red and Blues and bring a friend!
