Ards continue their quest for this season's Irish Cup with a trip to Loughgall, who this week confirmed they will be in the top half of the Bluefin Championship when the League splits with a 5-2 victory at Dergview where ex Ards striker Gary Liggett notched his first two goals for his new club. Their league record so far shows eleven victories, ten defeats and only one draw and they got to this stage in the cup with a 4-1 home victory over PSNI in the last round.
Ards fans will however be optimistic of progressing but will be looking for a more energised performance than they saw at Dungannon last week. Manager Colin Nixon will hopefully have a full squad to choose from, although Elebert and Ruddy are injury doubts, Johny Taylor returns to the fold having completed his two game suspension.
All the recent signings are eligible to play and as the Irish Cup permits up to seven substitutes it is quite possible that a few of them will feature at some stage as the manager tries to blend some of the new faces with the more established players to find a winning formula. Maybe Alex McIlmail who continued his good scoring form with five goals for the Under 20s against Dungannon on Wednesday night will come into contention. The best way to find out is to be there!
Travelling fans are once again encouraged to use the PASC bus which leaves the Social Club/Gibson's Lane at 1.30 p.m.
