Match Preview: Warrenpoint (a)

By Stuart Dellow

Another important game for both sides in the quest for points to ease the pressure at the bottom of the Premiership table. At the moment only goal difference is keeping Ards off the automatic relegation place while Warrenpoint are only two points better off. In Warrenpoint's favour is recent form, as after losing their opening six league games they are unbeaten in their last four, picking up eight points in the process, although they did lose to League Cup holders Dungannon after extra time when playing in that competition on Tuesday night.

Ards lost to a very late Institute goal last Saturday but won 4-1 at Dergview in the League Cup on Tuesday where a number of young players were given game time and responded well to the opportunity. However it is likely that the likes of David McAllister and Kym Nelson, who were unused substitutes on Tuesday and have had more time to recover from niggling injuries, will be recalled to the starting line up for this crucial game. Ards fans will be hoping that after seeing the team only score twice in the previous seven games, the four goals scored on Tuesday will give confidence which will translate into a positive result enabling them to leapfrog their opponents in the league table.

Ards fans intending to travel to this game are encouraged to use the PASC bus which will be leaving the Social Club/Gibson's Lane at 1.00 p.m.
