Match Preview: Warrenpoint (h)

Updated: Apr 2, 2018

ARDS vs WARRENPOINT

TUESDAY 3rd APRIL - KO 7.45pm

Warrenpoint's win over Dungannon last time out means they are now mathematically safe from automatic relegation and have a ten point lead over Carrick Rangers, who are currently in the play off place with five games to go. Dungannon's defeat in that game means they are only two points ahead of Ards who will be pushing for points to overtake them on the run-in an attempt to finish in eighth place and emulate last season's efforts.

Honours are even between the two sides so far this season, a 1-0 defeat for Ards at Warrenpoint early in the season was avenged by a 2-1 win in Bangor in October. The third game back at Warrenpoint finished in a 3-3 draw in December.

Ards will definitely be without Michael Ruddy for this one, as he is suspended for one game after accumulating five yellow cards. It remains to be seen whether manager Colin Nixon decides to include more of the Under 20s in the match day squad or relies on the regulars in a bid to get that eighth spot.

Please note there will be no Ardsview programme for this fixture, due to Easter holidays.

Normal service will resume for Saturday's home game vs Glentoran.
