MatchPreview : Warrenpoint Town [h]

Ards vs Warrenpoint Town.

Bangor Fuels Arena.

Saturday March 16th at 3.00 p.m.

Ards look to continue their recent improved form when they host Irish Cup semi-finalists Warrenpoint Town. Although only one place above Ards in the table, 'Point have a ten point lead and barring a late season collapse are probably safe from relegation fears. They have lost their last four league games however and Ards will be hoping that run of defeats continues on Saturday. Previous games between the two teams this season have been close, a 1-0 win for the home side at Warrenpoint in October, then a 1-1 draw in Bangor in December.

Warren Feeney will no doubt be happy with the effort from his squad in the last two games, but will have to do without midfielder Kym Nelson who will miss the rest of the league programme following his red card at the Oval last week. His absence will give someone else a chance to stake a claim for a regular spot in the final seven league games in which Ards hope to at least maintain their current play-off spot and have a chance of avoiding relegation. Team selection this weekend will be interesting, Darren Henderson may be fit enough for inclusion in the squad and others are pushing for a place on the bench, yet the team has been performing well and other than a replacement for Nelson there may not be too many changes to the starting line up.

Once again Ards will be inviting those under 16 years of age to watch this important game for just £1. Hopefully it will encourage those who enjoyed the Newry game to come back and maybe bring a friend or two.
