With a month to go until our first competitive game, John Bailie has negotiated the loan signing of centre forward Callum Ferris from Portadown. Callum is highly thought of at Shamrock Park and will be with Ards until January, when the arrangement will be reviewed.

Callum was 19 in July and has represented Northern Ireland at Under 16, Under 17 and Under 19 levels. He even made an appearance for the Under 21 side as an eighteen year old when he came on as a substitute against Finland in a 1-1 draw in September 2019.

Ards fans may remember him scoring a penalty against us when we hosted the Ports in April 2017. Although Ards won the game 3-2, that strike made Callum, who was still three months shy of his 16th birthday at the time, the youngest player ever to score for Portadown.

Welcome to the Red and Blues Callum!
