QUBFC vs Ards Match Preview.

QUBFC vs Ards.

Bluefin Sport Championship.

The Dub.

Saturday 29th February at 3.00 p.m.

Ards bid to go unbeaten throughout February when they travel to play the students on Saturday. Three wins and a draw this month sees the Red and Blues in fifth place in the table with 46 points, while Queens are ninth on 34 points although they have played one game less.

Previous meetings this season have seen Ards win 5-0 in the County Antrim Shield and 3-2 in the league, both these games in Bangor, but Queens got revenge with a 3-1 win at the Dub in November, two of the goals coming from ex Ards player Jonah Mitchell. The other goal that day came from Matt Hughes who scored a hat-trick last time out in a 3-1 win over Dundela. To underline the inconsistency in this division, Queens had lost their four previous league games prior to last Saturday but during that time in Irish Cup games they beat Linfield and only lost 3-2 to Glentoran in the next round.

Ards team for Saturday will definitely be without the still injured Craig McMillen and also Kym Nelson who completes his suspension, while Michael McLellan and David McAllister are doubtful after both had to go off in the 3-1 win over Dergview on Tuesday night. Saturday may be too soon for Ben Cushnie to be considered so there are opportunities for other players to show they deserve more playing time. In the absence of leading scorer McLellan, Ards fans will be hoping Salou Jallow, who has scored in his last four appearances, can extend that run.

For the convenience of fans intending to travel, the PASC bus will be leaving the Social Club/Gibson's Lane at 2.00 p.m.

Match Officials are not confirmed at time of writing.
